Overview
Gadens is a leading full-service law firm operating across Australia, providing commercial law, corporate advisory, dispute resolution and a broad range of specialist services to clients across sectors. To support its people in an increasingly hybrid working environment and to modernise the foundation of its Microsoft 365 investment, Gadens partnered with Teku to transform how devices are provisioned, secured and managed across the firm.
The Challenge
Gadens needed to provision and support devices for employees working across a hybrid environment including Windows laptops and desktops and BYOD mobile devices.
The firm needed the ability to remotely provision devices for staff in any location both quickly and securely. That meant rethinking identity, device management, application delivery and end-user experience as a single, modern platform.
Our Approach
Teku worked with Gadens to unlock more value from their existing Microsoft 365 investment, developing a phased roadmap for the adoption of new services that would strengthen security, add capability and reduce operational cost. At the centre of the program was the adoption of Microsoft Intune for device management, and the gradual retirement of the legacy Microsoft Configuration Manager estate.
Early phases delivered immediate wins in identity and access security. The program then moved to Mobile Device Management – containerising corporate data, enabling Bring Your Own Device, and introducing policies to support a genuinely mobile workforce while protecting corporate data.
A refresh of the Standard Operating Environment followed. Paired with Microsoft Autopilot and Azure-native management, the solution enabled zero-touch provisioning of devices from any location and supported a fleet-wide rollout of Windows 11 on modern Lenovo hardware.
Throughout delivery Teku applied an iterative approach, giving Gadens the flexibility to refine the solution based on learnings. The result was a platform tailored to the way the firm works and a delivery model built on partnership.
Outcome
The program transformed how Gadens procures, prepares and delivers devices to its people. New devices can now be shipped directly from the supplier to employees with device preparation completed by Gadens IT or authorised suppliers quickly, including all policies and line-of-business applications. When a device arrives, the employee is productive from first login in under 15 minutes, with every app pre-configured and ready to go.
Ongoing operations were streamlined: Windows Autopatch automates fleet-wide updates as a fully managed Microsoft service, Microsoft Edge combined with Microsoft security baselines provides a hardened and manageable end-user environment, and OneDrive delivers seamless file portability between devices.
Teku enabled Gadens to embrace a modern device management approach that improves productivity, strengthens security and delivers a genuinely seamless user experience. The engagement reflects an enduring partnership and demonstrates what is possible when collaboration and technical depth come together around a clear outcome.
